High potential and gifted education

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Teachers identify students' learning needs in the classroom and use evidence-informed teaching practices to challenge and extend students. Enrichment and extension programs are designed to meet specific student needs
Our supportive classroom environments promote a sense of belonging and encourage risk-taking, creativity and collaboration.
Groups are flexible, students take lead roles, and feedback is strengths-based with clear goals and self-assessment.

Students deepen strengths through debating, competitions and workshops.
Mosman has an extensive music program and is celebrated through opportunities to join choir, dance and recorder groups with performances at the Sydney Opera House and the Town Hall.

There are many leadership opportunities available through SRC, eco and sustainability reps and technology leaders.
Daily life invites curiosity and belonging, with Library and passive play available at lunch and also in sustainability club.
Students are given the opportunity to participate in NSWPSSA sport pathways, training, coaching and house competitions that include differentiated PE, as well as many opportunities for our students to represent PSSA on a zone and district level in a variety of sports.

High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

Our students participate in a wide range of statewide programs to extend and enrich student potential.

These opportunities include the Maths Olympiad, Premier’s Spelling Bee, Premier’s Multicultural Public Speaking and the Premier's Reading Challenge.
Students are given the opportunity to participate in NSWPSSA sport pathways, training, coaching and house competitions that include differentiated physical education, as well as many opportunities for our students to represent PSSA on a zone and district level in a variety of sports.
